Ultrasn0w was updated to support old baseband on new iOS 4.3.3.

Here is the list of supported basebands:

• iPhone 4: 01.59.00
• iPhone 3G/3GS: 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04, 06.15.00.

Ultrasn0w 1.2.3 (for unlockers with old baseband) is available in Cydia.

You can update to iOS 4.3.3 and preserve old baseband using two utilities. Here are step-by-step instructions:

DevTeam released much anticipated untethered jailbreak for the latest iOS 4.3.1 – RedSn0w 0.9.6 rc9 and PwngeTool 4.3.

The 4.3.1 untether works on all Apple devices that support 4.3.1 except for the iPad2:

• iPhone 3GS
• iPhone 4 (GSM)
• iPod Touch 3G
• iPod Touch 4G
• iPad 1
• AppleTV 2G (PwnageTool only for now)

Redsnow is easy to use, it is available for Windows and Mac OS. Pwnagetool can be used to create custom ipsw and preserve baseband, it supports Mac OS only.

There is no unthethered jailbreak for new iPhone 3GS bootroms and iOS 4.2.1 yet, so you should stay at iOS 4.1.

Important: iPhone3GS users with old bootroms who want to go to 4.2.1 and unlock should not use this PwnageTool! Update to stock 4.2.1 first, then use new redsn0w to update your baseband.

If you are on the 05.14 or 05.15 baseband you will also need the iPad 3.2.2 firmware. You can find out your baseband version in Settings -> General -> About -> Modem Firmware.

• iPad iOS 3.2.2: iPad1,1_3.2.2_7B500_Restore.ipsw

When downloading the IPSW file, it is best to download it with Firefox since Safari often auto extracts it!

Step Two
Double click to mount PwnageTool then drag the PwnageTool icon into the Pwnage folder.
